Manuela Preoteasa is a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Bucharest.
Her main field of interest consists of media policies, with a special focus on media pluralism; her PhD thesis looked into the developments of the post-communist Romanian media from the media ownership and pluralism perspective. She has authored a series of monitoring studies, among which "Mapping Digital Media: journalism, democracy and values” (2010, Open Society Media Programme, London)”, “Television across Europe: Regulation, Policy and Independence” (2008, 2005, respectively, Open Society Institute, Budapest/London), “Media Ownership and Its Impact on Pluralism and Independence” (2004, Mirovni Institute, SEENPM, Ljubljana) – the chapters covering Romania and edited the comparative study “Business of Ethics, Ethics of Business” (2006, SEENPM- CJI, Bucharest). In 2011, she was an academic visitor of the Department of Politics and International Relations - University of Oxford, which enlarged her view on media research. As a journalist, Manuela Preoteasa has been the publisher of the Romanian branch of the Brussels-based EurActiv. She is also a Marshal Memorial Fellow.

Oscar Stănciulescu is a PhD student in Communication Studies and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences (University of Bucharest). He is a former printed media journalist and a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences. He also has a MA degree in Media Management. His research interests are media and religion, new media, data journalism and data visualization. Oscar is also an editor for European Journalism Observatory (Romanian edition).

Antonia Matei is a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences (University of Bucharest). For more than 10 years she has been a reporter and editor at the Romanian Broadcasting Corporation. At Radio România Actualităţi she hosted shows like Objective, Romania, Europe, closer to us and Our World. She has a PhD in Communication Sciences and currently she is also an European Journalism Observatory  (Romanian edition) editor. Marian Popovici is a PhD student in Communication Studies and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Journalism and the Communications Sciences within the University of Bucharest. He is also a sport journalist at the Romanian website fanatik.ro. He is a graduate of both the Faculty of Journalism and Communications Sciences (University of Bucharest) and the Faculty of Finance, Banks and Accounting (Dimitrie Cantemir University). He also has two MA degrees: Thematic Journalism and Financial Banking Management. Marian is an editor for European Journalism Observatory (Romanian edition).

Dr Gábor Polyák works for University of Pécs, Institute for Communication and Media Studies as associate professor and for Mertek Media Monitor, a Hungarian NGO dealing with media policy issues as research leader. Before, he was research fellow at the University of Münster, Institute for Information, Telecommunication and Media Law from 2014 to 2016, and associate professor at the University of Pécs, Institute for Information and Communication Law from 2001 to 2014. His educational background includes law and media studies at the University of Pécs, master of laws degree in ICT law at the University of Vienna, PhD degree and habilitation at the University of Pécs. He teaches and does research in the fields of media regulation, IT law, media policy, and he also teaches media literacy for media teachers. His last books are: Medienfreiheit unter Druck: Medienregulierung und Medienpolitik in Ungarn (co-editor with Prof. Bernd Holznagel), B&S Siebenhaar Verlag, 2016.; Médiaszabályozás, médiapolitika. Technikai, gazdasági és társadalomtudományi összefüggések [Media Regulation, Media Policy. He is a journalist, editorial consultant, and digital communication teacher and trainer. He is the coordinator of the Graduate Program in Journalism and professor in the Master's degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies at ISCTE-IUL. He also teaches at the Graduate Program in Digital Marketing at IPAM / IADE. He is an assistant researcher at CIES-IUL, participating in several national and international projects. He is the online and multimedia courses coordinator at the Portuguese journalists training center, Cenjor. 

He is a Ph.D. student in Communication Sciences and as a Master's degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies at ISCTE-IUL. It has numerous training courses in areas such as journalism, online journalism, audiovisual, photography, art aesthetics or screenwriting for film and television.

He was publisher, editor-in-chief or editor of dozens of journalistic projects and worked for Diário de Notícias, Público and Correio da Manhã daily newspapers. He has won a dozen national and international awards in the multimedia area with informative, educational and edutainment projects for adults, and children and teenagers.

Annamária Torbó is an assistant professor at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Pécs (UP). She received her PhD degree at the Language and Communication Doctoral Programme of the Doctoral School of Linguistics at the UP. She is interested in the international trends of journalism and developing the skills of media literacy. She is the editor of the Hungarian European Journalism Observatory. Besides being a researcher, she was the project assistant of NEWSREEL - New Skills for the Next Generation of Journalists. Currently, she is the professional leader of NEWSREEL2 - New Teaching Fields for the Next Generation of Journalists. Furthermore, Annamária is one of the editor of the book "New Skills for Journalists. Comparative Perspectives from Europe" (2022) which was published based on the results of the NEWSREEL research reports. Her other field of research is connected to the products of popular culture (particularly movies and TV series), and she focuses on the relationship of media texts and fan communities. She wrote and defended her PhD dissertation with the title of "Cultural and Participatory Politics in a Hungarian Harry Potter Fandom" in 2022.

Andrei Schwartz (EurActiv Romania) is a civil society expert and researcher specialised in post-communist democratisation processes, sustainable development policies, and media pluralism. He has worked in several international research projects coordinated by organisations such as COMPAS (University of Oxford), the European Journalism Centre, or the Centre for European Policy Studies, and has authored a series of reports and articles in the fields of post-communist constitutionalism and media pluralism.

Catarina Carvalho is a journalist, member of the editorial board of Diário de Notícias, a national daily newspaper founded in 1864, and also editor-in-chief of Notícias Magazine, a weekly Sunday newsmagazine. With more of 20 years of experience as a journalist in several of the most important media in Portugal, she is also a member of the board of Portuguese branch of the Online News Association.
