Pedro Santos is a young journalist, member of an innovative, entrepreneurial and independent news outlet, É Apenas Fumaça. Before, he was a journalist in the Portuguese newsmagazine Visão. He presents himself as an activist for social and environmental causes.

Ricardo Tomé is the general manager of Media Capital Digital, the new media business branch of the biggest Portuguese Media Group, with several TV channels, radios and online media. Prior, he had the same position at RTP, the public TV and radio network. He is also a new media innovation and business teacher at several Portuguese universities (ISCTE-IUL, European University, Catholic University of Lisbon, Institute Fabernovel, etc.)

Sofia Branco is the president of the Portuguese Union of Journalists and has been a journalist for 15 years, in which she has won several prizes, especially for her work in gender issues. She works now at LUSA, the Portuguese news agency, and before she worked for several years at Público, one of the most important daily newspapers in Portugal.

Paulo Pena was a journalist in Visão magazine, where he edited the Politics section. Since February 2013, he has been a great reporter for Público newspaper. In 2002 he received the Gazeta - Revelation Prize in journalism, in 2007 the Journalism Prize Economic of UNL, in 2012 the Prize for reporting Cáceres Monteiro and in 2014 the Gazeta Prize for Journalism. He’s also part of the collaborative project Investigate Europe.

Tamás Bodoky, Hungary, is editor-in-chief of atlatszo.hu, a Hungarian watchdog organization and investigative news portal founded in 2011.
Before founding atlatszo.hu Bodoky covered science and technology, environmental and human rights issues, and corruption and organized crime. For almost a decade he reported and edited at the Hungarian news portal Index.hu. Before that he covered science and technology for Magyar Narancs weekly. Bodoky has won the Gőbölyös Soma Prize for investigative journalism for articles on unrest and police brutality in Hungary in 2006. He also won the Iustitia Regnorum Fundamentum Award and the Hungarian Pulitzer Memorial Prize for his work on corruption. Atlatszo.hu has won the Freedom of Expression Award of Index on Censorship in 2015, and the SozialMarie Prize for social innovation in 2016.
Atlatszo.hu is member of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and the Global Investigative Journalism Network.

 
Dr. Stephan Russ-Mohl is professor of journalism and media management at the Università della Svizzera italiana (University of Lugano), Switzerland, and the director of the European Journalism Observatory in Lugano. His research interests include the quality of journalism and media management, economic theory of journalism, comparative journalism research, and media journalism.

Dominik Speck is a researcher at the Institute of Journalism and the Erich Brost Institute for International Journalism at TU Dortmund University. He also has several years of experience as a freelance journalist specialized on covering media issues, working mostly for the German trade journal epd medien. He studied journalism and political science at TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum and Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey. In 2020, Dominik worked as a Visiting Researcher at the European Broadcasting Unions’ (EBU) Media Intelligence Service in Geneva, Switzerland. His PhD research project focuses on transparency of public service media in a European cross-country comparison. He has also done fieldwork on media accountability in Myanmar. Other research interests include comparative journalism studies, media policy as well as the role of media and journalism in systems undergoing political transformation.

Dr. Rita Glózer works for University of Pécs, Institute for Communication and Media Studies as associate professor. Her educational background includes literature and linguistic as well as communication and media studies. She teaches and does research in the field of public discourses and discourse theory, youth and media culture, media and cultural studies at the University of Pécs. Thanks to the Erasmus+ mobility programme for lecturers, she has additional teaching experience at the Babes-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) and Sapientia Hungarian University in Transylvania (Targu Mures, Romania). Her last books are: Diskurzusok a civil társadalomról (Discourses on Civil Society) L’Harmattan Kiadó, 2008; as co-author with Margit Feischmidt, Zoltán Ilyés, Veronika Kasznár and Ildikó Zakariás: Nemzet a mindennapokban. Az újnacionalizmus populáris kultúrája. (Nation in Everyday Life: Popular Culture of Neo-nationalism) L’Harmattan, Budapest, 2014. Besides being an associate professor of the UP, she is also the president of Médianegyed Egyesület (a civil association for supporting media education).

Lenka Waschková Císařová works as an assistant professor at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Her teaching and research focus on journalism studies, media ownership, local media, and the transformation of media markets. She is the editor of the book Voice of the Locality: Local Media and Local Audience; the author of a monograph about Czech local media developments; and the author of several journal articles and book chapters on related topics. Previously, she worked as a local journalist.

Klára Procházková is a PhD student at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism at Masaryk University in Brno. Her main fields of research are trust in media, fragmented media environment, polarization of society and influence of populism on trust in media. In her thesis she is dealing with challenges of public service media in the Czech Republic and rise of the authoritarian populism. She is a lecturer on statistics at the department.
